Project 3- The Cyclical Nature of Things- Images

 

So there are a few words I'm thinking of, either "change" or "time". Based on the images I took, I like the idea of how things change over time. I have a picture of my mom when she was little with one of her pet chickens, and then another recent picture of her with one of the chickens we have now, unfortunately the picture of her as a kid isn't very clear. I also have lots of pictures of tree rings, which I think are a good representation of age and time. Obviously there's the life long question of what came first, the chicken or the egg? So I have some pictures of our chickens and the eggs they lay. I tried to focus a lot on textures, so I'm hoping I can find a way to use them. I've just been struggling with how to combine these pictures to tell a story that I like.

  Here is my icon :) Darth Vader is an icon to me, because I feel like anyone could recognize his famous breathing and his helmet shape. I chose this particular photo because it is from the legendary "No, I am your father" scene that I feel like almost everyone knows or has at least heard a reference to before. I've known almost my whole life who Darth Vader was, and that he was Luke's father, before I had even watched a single Star Wars movie.

Project 4- Visual Sequential Narrative- Ideas

 So I'm still a little confused as to what exactly I'm going to do for this project, but at the moment I'm thinking I might focus on the process of a drawing. Especially my charcoal drawings, there is a lot that goes into the process and so I think that would be interesting to focus on. The process of my artwork has always been something really intriguing to me, and I love seeing how a piece progresses the more I work on it. That's all I have for right now so hopefully that will lead me somewhere.  Here are some of the photos I'm working with that I've taken.
